The last of life, for which the first was made."

Sanctuary Residents

Matt

Born at an 'undisclosed rescue', Matt was adopted out numerous times because of his almost perfect confirmation. He was always returned. Why? Because he did not respond to abuse, starvation, or cruelty. Matt is a sweet guy but, he's never forgotten the cruelty inflicted upon him and has temper tantrums. We love him dearly.

Strider

Matt's older half-brother, Strider endured the same rough treatment every time his brother was adopted out. No one really wanted this guy but he went anyway. Strider too, has never forgotten the abuse but has come to trust us. He will stay here forever as Strider explodes when too much stress is placed on his already abused soul.

Pardner

Abandoned along with his pregnant mother, Pardner had a rough start in life. He had been injured by a stallion, emaciated, and was no one's special guy. Pardner now has a forever home at this sanctuary and has turned out to be one good looking boy.

Once In A Blue Moon

Micco

Shadows Cattle Man, was purchased at auction by a young woman who found out the next day he was lame. Looking for a barrel prospect this guy needed a home. We found out about Micco and decided we had room for this little guy. Micco is coming along nicely but will need a lot of time to trust again. And we have all the time he needs.

Jumpin' Jack Flash

J.J. is loveable as any horse I've ever been around. Rejected and kicked by his mother, J.J. lost an eye but this resilient little guy didn't let it hold him back. This is one very sweet little boy. When Sugarfoot came into sanctuary J. J. was quick to bond with Sugar and show him the ropes.

Sirius Black

An off the track thoroughbred, Sirius was learning to be a dressage horse until the day he came up from the pasture, lame. An operation at Texas A&M allowed him to be a companion horse only, so he came to live with us, and we are so glad he did.

Sugarfoot

Sugarfoot has bonded well with Jewel and the two of them are like mother and son. Sugar is a shy, reserved little boy and one of the sweetest babies I've had the pleasure to be around.

Jewel

No one had time for Jewel so she has come to live with us. She is a sweet little mare and will certainly give all the geldings something to think about as she is a no nonsense girl. We are so pleased to have been given the opportunity to share our place with this sweet horse.

Abby & Daniel

Abby and Daniel came to our sanctuary together. Abby is a little bucksin mare with a personality that will melt your heart. Her buddy, Daniel is an aged TB with a kind and gentle demeanor. We don't have a lot of history on these two but their future is bright and certain.

Doc B

Doc is an aged tobiano paint gelding with a wonderfully sweet personality. He's buddied up with our aged TB, Daniel and they make quite a dignified pair.

Horses come to the sanctuary with names, these are changed upon arrival.
Change their name, change their luck. Then again some come with names so perfect...
